Tim Foust is the bass {has a 5-octave range}, Adam Chance {AKA Chance} is the baritone/bass {also a 5-octave range}, Rob Lundquist (with the full beard and glasses} is the tenor {vocally trained in Opera), Austin Brown is the high tenor and is also Vocally trained, Adam Rupp is the beatboxer /vocal percussionist. System's self-titled album came out when I was in grade 6 and their music was on heavy rotation after that, I went downtown to the headshop and bought one of their hoodies lol, etc., and along with other rock and metal bands informed my musical taste for quite a few years. Toxicity is definitely my favourite of their albums, however Spiders might just be my favourite song. I find a lot of SOAD's songs to be sonically (and often lyrically) quite dichotic with intense juxtapositions. Daron has said "this song is about nothing" lol, and SOAD never really explain what any of their songs are about, but I do think this song has a lot of themes in it's lyrics and especially in the imagery of the music video... dealing with fame and industry pressure, the idolization of fame or ability, greed and lust, and your public image, of having impossible dreams but being self-critical, feeling like an outcast or othered, feeling alone even when surrounded by people, (individualist and social) anarchism... but on the flip side I think the chorus is about shifting that perspective and about gaining enlightenment, or potentially spirituality, of mediating and letting go, of accepting that everything is maybe ultimately "nothing"... which I do think 'Aerials' is a nod to acid as you said, or "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" (tho maybe ending with the sitar creates that connection for me lol), and the death of ego that can occur... And ending on the Om lends me more credence to it's potential spirituality. And maybe it's just about the nothingness of what we find after we die

Yes, you immediately recognized the time aspect of the theme. The album from which this is taken is titled "Yesterwynde," and the cover art is a surrealist representation of a clockface on a spiral winding timeline stretching backward into the past. Now, with that in mind, did you notice the cute little owl who was spinning his head around like a motor? Notice it is spinning counterclockwise, i.e., backwards. I believe that he speeds it up to a breakneck rate to suggest we must look further back beyond our human ancestors to consider what came even before that. And in that vein, I'll point out one other little "Easter Egg" he has hidden in here for us. Right after the book telling us, "In order to be born you needed...," but before showing us the power of 2 progression of parents, it cuts to a primordial amphibian diving into the water tank in the library. Why? It's a mystery. For now. But then we see the power of 2 text followed by vignettes of the free-diver. So what? Well, a bit later, it cuts back to the library. Who is swimming in the little water tank? Not the amphibian who dove in but the human free-diver. This Easter Egg is reminding us of a common-thread Nightwish theme since Day One of the band: That we humans are "Oceanborn." We are "ocean souls." There are dozens of other Easter Eggs in this video that remain a mystery to me and likely will for quite some time to come!

"Lovely Bunch of Coconuts" is the name of the production company. Sometimes you will also see "Oy" after it. To the best of my research, Oy is a legal abbreviation in Finnish that is analogous to our "LLC" or "Ltd."

Yes, Tuomas wrote it. That was Troy singing at the end. Lead single from the upcoming 10th studio album, Yesterwynde. The record is the 3rd in a trilogy of albums, along with Endless Forms Most Beautiful and Human:II:Nature ,with themes of life, science, nature, evolution ,etc. You already checked out The Greatest Show On Earth, that was part of EFMB. Those multiple vocal harmonies are the 'chorus of ancestors'. 2 more music videos are supposed to come out before the album releases on Sep 20.

Nightwish has a holding company called Oily Empire Ltd Oy. Jukka, their former drummer, is CEO of this company. As it was explained to me on the sadly defunct Nightwish forum, the band creates a new daughter company for each new venture. Sounds plausible to me. A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts would be the newest daughter company, managing the income and outlays of their upcoming Yesterwynde album.

All the band members are of Armenian descent, either born to Armenian immigrants or immigrants themselves. They tend to incorporate some features that are found in Armenian music. Twill bring in scales that are not typically found in western music along with other elements.

Going backwards in time with even more generations of your ancestors, we soon reach a probability of 1 divided by the number of atoms in the entire universe. Most, if not all, of the free diving sections are taken from Guillaume Néry's short film "One Breath Around The World", which you can watch on his YT channel. His thongs are in fact extra weight to adjust his buoyancy.

I thought you would love this one when you got to it and was a bit surprised how long it took! It is certainly true you can listen to this a hundred times, as I have, and keep finding things you missed. The Perfume of the Timeless represents, to me, that lingering indefinable sense of past lives, in this case represented by perfume that stays long after someone has left. There is also a lot of Cycle of Life in here (in the video represented by things like the swirling circles of birds, Tuomas becoming a tree etc) and so on. Darwin's butterflies maker an appearance in the museum sequences together with the "curious ghosts" of the lyrics, represented by each band member and particularly Tuomas browsing the Darwin library of books. We even have Einstein de-evolving into an ape! Here's a snippet from an interview with Tuomas: "The first single, Perfume Of The Timeless, is nearly 10 minutes long. Not exactly easing people in, are you?" “No! But, when we had the first meeting with Nuclear Blast, talking about the new album and singles, I told them, the first single will be a song called Perfume Of The Timeless, and it's eight-and-a-half minutes long, and the chorus comes in at 3:30. And they were like, ‘Perfect!’ I think that has to do with the fact that we have a long legacy. You know, we can do whatever we want, and I do, but it says something that we can do that, when I heard that for Spotify it’s good to have the vocals start after 15 seconds, or people skip it, they don’t have the attention span anymore.” "What does the title, Yesterwynde, mean?" “It’s a made-up word. There's this thing called The Dictionary Of Obscure Sorrows. It gave me the idea that if you don't have an English word to describe a certain emotion, you can just make your own. This particular dictionary is dedicated to that, like, the feeling of longing for a place that you have never been in. What is that feeling? And it was something weird, I can remember. And this album was born from a certain sensation that I felt really strongly, but I couldn't find a word in human language to describe it. So I started to talk with Troy [Donockley, multi-instrumentalist] and said, ‘Should we come up with a new word? Does that make any sense to you?’ And he's like, ‘Yeah, that's a brilliant idea. What did you have in mind?’ It was something like time, memories going black and white, sepia, and I said, ‘something yesterday’. Then he said, ‘How about Yesterwynde?’ That's perfect! But yeah, it's just a made up word to describe what the album is about." As to the free diving, this reflects Tuomas' lifelong obsession with the oceans (he did, after all, consider becoming a marine biologist). I've listened to this song a lot and there are still new things to discover. Thank you for pointing out that the tempo increases at the end of the intro. I think it represents that time seems to go faster as you get older.

Yes, the counter-melody is in Seal's original. I'd like to point out how at one point in the cello solo the BGVs stop and simultaneously lower their mics and defer to Kevin. IMHO it's a sign of their utmost respect for Kevin.

Asyan is the vocalist. Dive into Otyken "Phenomenon" and then "Altay". Your mind will be blown. They are from the Siberian section of Russia. They sing in a mix of languages including Chulyum and Russian. The "horse headed fiddle" is the instrument in question, or "Morin Khur". In this song, many of the intonations that Azyan uses represent sounds of nature. The high pitched sound she uses is representative of a hawk, for example.

One of my reads on the meaning of this song is that, essentially, most people have the wrong priorities in life The time you spend alive is incredibly brief compared to the amount of time the universe existed before you were born and how long it will exist after you die. Life is the "waterfall" where for just a moment we are each separate drops of water, while the time before and after is the river, where we lose our individual "selves" but are one with the rest of the universe and humanity. This is scary but also what makes life precious, and so many people waste their short life putting up walls between themselves and others and focusing on pointless things that don't matter, like fame and money, etc

Don’t think it’s about drugs. It’s much more philosophical. He’s basically saying when you lose small mindedness and free your eyes from the day to day BS of life, you gain perspective and you free your life.
